Sarita James is Embark’s Chief Executive Officer, responsible for management of the company with a focus on growth. Prior to Embark, Sarita held executive roles at Citigroup, including Chief Operating Officer of Citi Ventures.
She has experience building software at Microsoft Corporation where she received two patents and advising technology companies as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Sarita has a passion for education and the public sector. Under the Obama administration, she served as a White House Fellow and Acting Branch Chief of the Small Business Administration’s Microloan program. During Mayor Bloomberg’s
second term, she ran the Strategy and Policy division for New York City Economic Development Corporation.
Sarita received a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard College and her M.B.A. from Oxford University’s Said Business School.
Michael is Embark’s Engineering Lead, responsible for day to day leadership of the development team. He focuses on architecture, performance, code quality, and scalability.
Over the last 17 years, Michael has led teams of developers through the full software development cycle in the legal, financial services, energy, and educational technology fields. Michael was a Vice President of Equities at fintech firm Markit in the years prior to its 2014 IPO. Michael has spent the last several years as a consultant, learning the value of continuous learning. In his spare time, Michael is also an accomplished music blogger; his writing was published in Best Music Writing 2011.
Michael has a BA in Digital Media from Fordham University and a MS in Computer Science from Pace University.
Tabitha Kaiser is Embark’s Operations Director. In this role, she leads the team that builds and configures applications to meet our clients’ needs. Her primary focus is ensuring that clients are happy and that their Embark
solution saves them time and supports their preferred workflow. Tabitha shares client requests with our technology team to inform our product roadmap.
Prior to joining Embark, Tabitha worked in Admissions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln managing the process of evaluation and enrollment. There she helped her team streamline processes to save hundreds of hours and better
serve prospective students. She is passionate about bringing technology and people together. She also dedicates time to teaching the next generation of Product Managers at General Assembly, a New York-based development bootcamp.
Tabitha holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Tymko Tecca is a Software Engineer with a specializiation in data analysis. Tymko first joined Embark as an Implementation Associate and brings this client experience to the data export and integration features he builds.
Before joining Embark, Tymko worked as a software developer on recruiting software and mobile app design for New York-based startups.
Outside of work, Tymko develops indie video games with bad graphics, learns foreign languages, and rides his bicycle with seemingly no regard for self-preservation or the sanctity of human life.
Tymko received a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Game Design from NYU. He studied Mandarin briefly at Fudan University in Shanghai.
Technical Implementation Associate
Devyn Gardner joined Embark as a Technical Implementation Associate in 2016. In this role, she communicates with Embark’s clients and helps to build out their online admissions solutions.
Prior to Embark, Devyn worked at Minnesota Life College, a not-for profit vocational program for young adults with ASD or other learning differences. Additionally, she has worked in U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar's office where she acted as a liaison between constituents and government agencies in resolving matters involving Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Immigration.
Originally from Minnesota, Devyn loves spending time outdoors, preferably on a golf course or by a lake.
Devyn received a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College.
Sophia is excited to join Embark’s team for the summer of 2017 as a summer associate. In her role, she contributes across the company, from coding to marketing and operations.
Outside of Embark, Sophia is a rising sophomore at Harvard University (where we were impressed she’s held down a 4.0 GPA so far!). At school, she particularly enjoys her role in Women in Business, where she’s organized a conference to empower high school women interested in careers in business. She has served as a teaching assistant for CSTUY’s Summer Hackers Immersion Program and volunteered as a University Settlement tutor for New York City students from low-income families.
Sophia grew up in New York City and loves exploring all that the city has to offer. In her free time, Sophia loves to dance and build on her training in classical ballet.
Sophia is studying towards a B.A. in Applied Mathematics or Computer Science from Harvard University in 2020.
Elisabeth's interest in coding was sparked after taking physics her senior year. She eventually went on to complete both the women’s web development program at Fullstack Academy of Code and its fellowship program which allowed her to expand her skill set while teaching and mentoring new students.
Before joining Embark, Elisabeth worked at an NYC startup, writing and curating content for product managers and their teams at Fortune 500 companies. In her spare time, Elisabeth loves to swim, read, walk her dog Becky.
Elisabeth received a B.A. in Biology and an Associates degree in Judaic Studies from Stern College for Women.
