Since 1995, Embark has been the leading provider of online application and admissions software to schools, universities, colleges, and fellowship programs around the world. In the nearly two decades our company has been in business, our hosted solution has provided a platform for more than 15 million students to apply and hundreds of institutions to manage their evaluation and admissions process. Embark previously filed to go public in 2000 and, in the past, has been a part of larger educational companies such as the Princeton Review. Now we are proud to be an independent, private company with mission-oriented investors including a major teachers’ pension plan.
Our latest platform has advanced substantially since the product’s first few lines of code were written out of an MIT dorm room. But we have stayed true to the company’s mission: leveraging technology to help connect people and educational opportunity. To that end, we realized we needed to do something when the #1 applicant support question we received was student requests for help with financial aid. In 2018, we launched a free service to help US students complete the FAFSA form by which they could qualify for federal or state aid.
In working with organizations, Embark has developed a reputation for a robust product offering with personal, responsive support from dedicated team members who genuinely care about our clients and their success. We follow Apple’s design philosophy of trying to keep our software interface simple and intuitive to minimize the learn curve. No implementation is too big or too small for us; some clients collect hundreds of thousands of applications and other clients are one man or woman powerhouses who keep their organizations running. So, whether you’re looking to bring your process online for the first time or to improve upon an existing in-house or third party system, you’ve come to the right place.
Embark is in the midst of shaking up the industry that it created twenty years ago, and we’d love the opportunity to put our product and services to work for you.
